Audre Lorde was a self-described “black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet” who addressed the injustice of racism, sexism, classism, and homophobia through her work. Her advocacy gave a voice and visibility to issues and intersectionality of sexuality, gender, and race. In honor of her work and life, her words from "A Burst of Light" and Other Essays are featured on Gleaux Shop’s Black History Month candle. Her words about self-care are the epitome of Gleaux Shop’s mission to care for and celebrate yourself.
